As Senior Science Office, Dr. Colleen Crittenden Murray is a highly trained behavioral researcher and program evaluator with 17 years of experience.
Prior to joining Power to Decide, Dr. Murray served as a senior evaluator at ICF for a wide range of federal and non-federal clients focused on reducing unintended pregnancy/STIs among youth and improving health behaviors in schools. Dr. Murray is experienced in adaptation, implementation, and evaluation of sexual health programs and has worked with community organizations and clinical partners to provide culturally appropriate services to address the needs of vulnerable populations. She has a broad background in public health, with specific training and expertise in mixed-method study design and intervention development and adaptation within high-risk communities. As a thought leader at ICF and former Associate Director of Research Projects at Emory, she has a successful history of providing leadership in the development of data collection materials, tailoring educational and communication materials, and developing performance measures. Dr. Murray has provided scientific and management leadership on complex health issues including STI/HIV prevention, pregnancy prevention, contraceptive decision-making and family planning, HPV vaccination, and LGBTQ health. She has contributed to and authored a number of peer-reviewed publications and has presented her work both nationally and internationally.
Dr. Murray earned her doctorate in public health from Tulane University School of Public Health and Tropical Medicine and a MPH and BS from the University of Pittsburgh.
