Wischell Joseph is Power to Decide's HBCU Fellow. In this role she will support Beyond the Sheets, a student led Historically Black College and University (HBCU) initiative aimed at advancing a culture of sexual and reproductive well-being on HBCU campuses and their surrounding communities. Specifically, the HBCU Fellow will work with Beyond the Sheets ambassadors in executing student-led engagement strategies aimed at raising awareness, providing education, reducing stigma, facilitating access to resources, and promoting advocacy and movement building.
Wischell recently graduated from Tuskegee University with a Bachelor of Science in Biology Pre-Health. As a former Beyond the Sheets ambassador, Wischell made a significant impact on her campus by tackling issues related to sexual and reproductive well-being. Her efforts demonstrated a deep commitment to dismantling stigmas around these vital conversations and inspiring her peers to engage in meaningful action. As an aspiring physician and public health professional, Wischell is currently on track to attend medical school and further her public health education in 2025.
