NEW CAMPAIGN CONNECTS DATING APP USERS TO CRITICAL REPRODUCTIVE AND SEXUAL HEALTH CARE RESOURCES

December 10, 2024

(WASHINGTON, D.C) - Today, Bedsider, a program of Power to Decide, launched the ‘Your Perfect Pairing’ ad campaign on popular dating apps to ensure individuals have the resources they need to navigate their birth control and dating journeys. The ‘Your Perfect Pairing’ campaign empowers individuals to take control of their reproductive well-being by helping them find their ideal birth control method and build connections that reflect their values and beliefs.

Throughout December, targeted ads will connect dating app users to critical resources on Bedsider.org for informed decision-making in their relationships and beyond. Similar to exploring dating options online, Bedsider.org allows visitors to compare birth control methods side-by-side so they can find the option that best fits their lifestyle and needs.

“At a time when attacks on reproductive and sexual health are growing, it’s critical to choose a partner who truly respects and supports your bodily autonomy. Resources such as Bedsider.org ensure people have the information they need to explore their birth control options, find a health care provider near them and understand the basis of a healthy relationship,” said Power to Decide CEO and practicing OB-GYN, Dr. Raegan McDonald-Mosley.

With growing concerns about the future of reproductive and sexual health care, particularly regarding access to contraception, young people are seeking reliable information. For instance, within just 24 hours of Election Day, Bedsider.org saw a 30% increase in site visits and a 77% jump in views of its Method Explorer page. This surge shows that young people not only need but are actively searching for this information. The ‘Your Perfect Pairing’ campaign is responding directly to this demand, ensuring people have the resources they need to take control of their health care and relationships.

“While dating apps have revolutionized the way people meet, it’s important to know if the person you’re connecting with aligns with your beliefs and values on birth control, abortion and family planning. Healthy relationships mean building a foundation based on trust, shared values and respect, especially when it comes to your reproductive and sexual health and well-being,” said Dr. Raegan McDonald-Mosley.

Dating apps allow individuals to explore relationships on their own terms, and are responsible for a significant portion of relationships today. Studies have shown that nearly one in three relationships start on a dating app, highlighting the growing role they play in people’s lives. The ‘Your Perfect Pairing’ campaign empowers users to find their perfect connection in life, love and birth control.
