Providers Can Set the Record Straight on Birth Control
At a time when birth control misinformation is rampant online—and patients are often left sorting through conflicting or misleading information on their own—we know how important it is for providers to lead with clarity, compassion, and evidence. That’s where Bedsider Providers comes in: a digital resource created to help health care professionals navigate birth control conversations with confidence. It offers patient-centered language tips, clinical guidance, and tools designed to make these conversations easier, more accurate, and more supportive.
To help spread the word, we worked with a group of providers for a pilot campaign highlighting how they’re using Bedsider Providers to support their work—and how they’re helping to shift the narrative around birth control by countering myths. These providers took to social media to share actionable ways other health care professionals can cut through the noise and deliver patient-centered care that’s stigma-free and grounded in facts.
From tackling myths about emergency contraception to creating safer spaces for patient questions, each post highlights ways providers can meet people where they are with facts, empathy, and real tools.
Here’s what they had to say:
Morgan McManus, Medical Student
Natalie Lissner, Pediatric Nurse Practitioner
Dr. Taylore Passero, OB/GYN
Dr. Nicole Syde, Dermatologist
Dr. Keven Stonewall, Family Medicine
Through this campaign, we reminded providers that:
- Birth control conversations should be fact-based and stigma-free.
- Patients are often exposed to confusing or misleading information—and it’s on providers to help make sense of it with kindness and clarity.
- Trusted resources like Bedsider can support these conversations and help patients walk away feeling informed and empowered.
