Power to Decide Applauds White House Announcement on Protecting Access to Reproductive Health Care Services

July 8, 2022

(Washington, D.C.)   President Joe Biden announced this morning that he will sign an executive order to protect and expand access to medication abortion, birth control, and accurate information about reproductive health care options.

The following statement can be attributed to Power to Decide CEO Raegan McDonald-Mosley, MD, MPH:

“We at Power to Decide applaud today’s action by the Biden-Harris administration, which will not only protect access to birth control and medication abortion, but also safeguard the rights of people seeking this basic care as well as the people who help them.

“Far too many lawmakers have already seized on the Supreme Court’s recent decision to overturn Roe v. Wade as an opportunity to push more and more restrictions on access to abortion care and other reproductive health services.

“Fortunately, the Biden-Harris administration is taking these necessary steps to ensure people have access to the essential, time-sensitive care they need to protect their health and to determine their own futures. We look forward to continuing to work with this administration to protect and expand reproductive health care access.”
