Popular Media

From TLC's UNEXPECTED and Freeform's The Bold Type to Marie Claire and Cosmopolitan, we partner with leaders and influencers in the entertainment industry and popular culture to talk about sexual health, relationships, and birth control in a relevant, approachable way. Whether it’s a serious article, a reality show, or a funny digital clip, we work with our media partners to incorporate important information and messaging that reach young people where they are—and reflect and reaffirm our goal that young people have the power to decide if, when, and under what circumstances to get pregnant and have a child.

For the fifth consecutive season, TLC and Power to Decide have partnered to help viewers use UNEXPECTED as a way to spark meaningful conversations about unplanned pregnancy. Based on themes that come up in the show, we create custom discussion-starters, information, and tips for young people and their parents, mentors, and allies to jump-start open conversations and ensure that all young people have the power to decide.

An educational partnership between MTV Books and Power to Decide, 16 & Pregnant: A Novel honestly and openly explores pregnancy through the eyes of two young Black teens in modern-day Nevada.
