Power to Decide Condemns Introduction of Federal Abortion Ban Legislation

September 13, 2022

(Washington, D.C.) Building on previous efforts to roll back abortion rights at the federal level, lawmakers in Congress today introduced new legislation to ban abortion across the nation.

The following can be attributed to Power to Decide CEO Raegan McDonald-Mosley, MD, MPH:

“Only a few short months after the Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade, it is unconscionable that our elected officials would look to make matters worse by introducing a federal abortion ban. It is insult upon injury that they would choose to do it now, as the harmful impact of the Supreme Court’s decision is still unfolding across the country.

“Abortion rights and reproductive health advocates have been sounding the alarm for decades, warning of the harm that would result from overturning Roe v. Wade, and that it would not stop there. Unfortunately, we are seeing the truth in their warning today. Now it is up to us—to all of us—to make our voices heard. Through inboxes and soapboxes, we must let our members of Congress know that we will continue to fight for abortion rights and reproductive well-being for all, and so should they.”
