WHITE HOUSE TAKES ANOTHER IMPORTANT STEP TO PROTECT REPRODUCTIVE HEALTH CARE
(Washington, D.C.) Power to Decide today applauds the Biden-Harris administration’s announcement of a new executive order to protect access to abortion and other reproductive health care. At the first meeting of the Task Force on Reproductive Healthcare Access, President Biden and Vice President Harris detailed upcoming efforts to: support people who must now cross state lines to access abortion care; ensure health care providers understand and comply with federal non-discrimination laws; and improve data collection and analysis on maternal health outcomes.
The following may be attributed to Power to Decide CEO Raegan McDonald-Mosley, MD, MPH:
“Today’s announcement represents another important step by the Biden-Harris administration to ensure people can access the abortion care they need without political interference or delay. The sad fact is that it has grown increasingly urgent for the administration to step in, as anti-abortion lawmakers have moved quickly to implement as many restrictions as possible in the short time since the U.S. Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade.
“Power to Decide thanks President Biden and Vice President Harris, for continuing their efforts to ensure everyone has access to the essential, time-sensitive care they need to protect their health and to determine their own futures. We look forward to continuing to work with this administration to do everything they can to protect and expand reproductive health care access.”
