GUIDESTAR 2021 PLATINUM SEAL OF TRANSPARENCY

June 29, 2021

(Washington, D.C.) — Power to Decide is proud to announce it has received the 2021 GuideStar Platinum Seal of Transparency for the fifth year. GuideStar is the world’s largest source of information on nonprofit organizations and the platinum rating is GuideStar’s highest level of recognition. In previous years, GuideStar has recognized Power to Decide with the silver, gold and most recently, with the platinum rating.

“We are thrilled and proud to receive GuideStar’s highest level of recognition for our commitment to fiscal transparency and mission driven work,” said Dr. Raegan McDonald-Mosley, CEO, Power to Decide. “As such, our work is more important than ever as access to the full range of contraceptive methods and quality sexual health information is neither equitable nor secure.”

Today, more than 19 million U.S. women currently live in contraceptive deserts—counties where they lack reasonable access to a clinic offering the full range of contraceptive methods.

“People of color, people from rural areas and those living in poverty face barriers such as costs of transportation and child care and time off work when trying to access contraception. This recognition will help support continued confidence in our work to ensure all people regardless of who they are or where they live have access to the full range of contraceptive methods they need and deserve,” added Dr. McDonald-Mosley.

Power to Decide’s Contraceptive Access Fund, BCBenefits, helps people overcome barriers to access contraception. To learn more about how we are helping women through BCBenefits, or to donate, please visit here.

Power to Decide is a private, non-partisan, non-profit organization that works to ensure all people—no matter who they are, where they live or what their economic status might be—have the power to decide if, when and under what circumstances to get pregnant and have a child.
