Five Great Reasons to Support Power to Decide this Holiday Season
We’re meeting young people where they are, with the information and resources they need right now.
Bedsider, our evidence-based and award-winning digital platform, reaches millions of young people each year with informative content, resources, and the tools to learn about birth control options and access reproductive health care. Bedsider includes articles and blogs about accessing telehealth and a searchable directory to find clinics and birth control delivery options—helping young people access the reproductive health care they need from the safety of their own homes.
We’re providing direct support to people in need of birth control through BCBenefits, our Contraceptive Access Fund.
More than 19 million women with low incomes in the US live in an area where they don’t have reasonable access to the full range of birth control methods. For many, their nearest clinic might be hundreds of miles away, or obtaining birth control may involve significant out-of-pocket costs or copays. BCBenefits supports individuals who want or need contraception but can’t afford it. So far, we’ve helped nearly 2,800 people access the birth control they need and deserve.
We’re supporting health care providers and others through evidence-based and proven-effective trainings and content.
We have trained thousands of health care and social service providers in One Key Question®, our transformative tool providing unbiased and patient-centered care focused on individual pregnancy desires. One Key Question is much more than a resource for health care providers—a recent study in the journal Contraception found that using One Key Question in clinical practices helped to increase patient satisfaction.
We’re advocating for equal access to the full spectrum of reproductive health care options—at every level.
Power to Decide has a long history of working in partnership with states and communities across the US and educating policymakers about the importance of access to reproductive health care. Most recently, we launched a digital Advancing Contraceptive Access Toolkit, which has equipped more than 700 people to enact proactive policies expanding access to birth control in their states. We also activated thousands of people around the country to fight back against the devastating impact of the Title X “domestic gag rule,” which reduces access to contraception for more than 8.8 million women living on low incomes.
Our work has a demonstrated impact and yields impressive results, year after year.
