At Power to Decide, we work to ensure that all young people—no matter who they are, where they live, or what their economic status is—have the power to decide if, when, and under what circumstances to get pregnant and have a child.

Since our founding, we have worked in partnership with many leaders across the media industry to forge creative collaborations with magazine brands, digital platforms, and news organizations.

Our Resources & Information

Contraceptive Deserts: We track and update our contraceptive deserts map to show where people in need can and can’t access the full range of birth control methods across the country. Our data provides journalists, policy makers, thought leaders, activists, and public health officials with essential information so that together we can improve access to contraception.

Advancing Contraceptive Access Toolkit: Our digital toolkit presents a variety of materials for elected officials, public health officials, and advocates to advance state contraceptive access policies. Currently, we focus on three policies: coverage for an extended supply of contraception, protecting contraceptive coverage, and pharmacist prescribing of contraception.

Bedsider: Bedsider.org is Power to Decide’s innovative and evidence-based online birth control support network for women age 18 to 29. With an average of 7 million unique visitors annually, Bedsider is the nation’s go to resource on birth control. We offer medically accurate information on all current methods of birth control and a method explorer to help young people choose the method that’s right for them.

BCBenefits: BCBenefits is our Contraceptive Access Fund to support everyone's power to decide if, when, and under what circumstances to get pregnant and have a child. The fund helps people of low income overcome some of the most commonly-faced barriers in access to contraception, such as transportation.

AbortionFinder: This directory provides clear, up-to-date information about the availability of abortion care across the country. With more than 750 health centers, AbortionFinder.org is the most comprehensive directory of trusted (and verified) abortion service providers in the United States.
