One person's hand reaches down to grasp another person's hands with a blue sky in the background.

Abortion is still legal in the United States, but people living in states where abortions are banned are facing difficult hurdles to access abortion care. The Dobbs v. Jackson US Supreme Court decision hands this fundamental right back to the states, paving the way for roughly half the states to ban abortion access entirely. Here are some ways you can help in the fight for reproductive rights.

Donate to an Abortion Fund

States banning abortion will hurt families with low incomes and people of color the most, which makes abortion funds more important now than ever. In addition to the cost of abortion care, people will now need to gather funds for travel, accommodations, food, and possibly childcare while they are in another state. People with low incomes simply cannot afford to travel to another state to access an abortion. Abortion funds offer financial and logistical support to people who cannot afford the costs of associated with an abortion.

Our AbortionFinder website has a state-by-state guide that covers the law in each state. Every state’s page has a list of abortion funds and practical support organizations within that state. Many of these organizations not only help people to fund their abortions but also help arrange transportation, childcare, and lodging when people need to travel out of state for care. You can help by donating to any of the organizations listed on AbortionFinder. You may also donate to any of these national organizations:

Brigid Alliance
