Talk About Reproductive Health This Giving Tuesday

Are you struggling to talk to friends and family about reproductive well-being?

Talking about birth control, abortion access, and sexual and reproductive health matters. Opening conversations can be tough, but the challenge is worth confronting since we can make the biggest difference by bringing people together and encouraging collective action.

Here are three tips to help your next conversation run smoothly:

Give Them the Lead

No one likes being lectured, especially not by family or friends. So instead of leading the classroom, sit back let them lead. Listen for topics others bring up that you can use as a transition to talk about reproductive health. Practice active listening and give your loved ones your undivided attention—especially if they share personal experiences.

Research Together

For more than a decade Charity Navigator has awarded Power to Decide with four stars, an honor less than 1% of rated charities can claim. And for five consecutive years GuideStar, the world’s largest source of information on nonprofit organizations, has given Power to Decide its highest level of recognition, a platinum rating.

These awards endorse our efforts to ensure that all young people—no matter who they are or where they live—have what they need to decide if, when and under what circumstances to get pregnant and have a child. They also mean that our donors can feel confident that their gifts will make a real difference in people's lives.
